Job description

Coventry University has been ranked joint first amongst Modern Universities in England for career prospects and we are in the top 6 universities for student experience. Our commitment to providing the best for our students doesn’t stop with them, it starts with our people. Without our dedicated teams, we wouldn’t be ranked so highly or have won any of our numerous awards.

We are one of the largest employers in Coventry and we offer our people a place to belong and an organisation to be proud of.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and ambitious physiotherapist with UK practice and academic experience work within our suite of Courses. We will support you to use your knowledge and experience to grow the future workforce of physiotherapy; to work alongside our large team bringing together creative and innovative approaches in learning and teaching within our post registration courses and depending on MSK experiences the First Contact Practitioner courses.  You will provide academic and pastoral support to our learners across MSc courses. Depending on your experience and prior level of study there will be the opportunity to contribute to pre-registration and post registration education and new course innovations.

We have a strong collaborative culture within the team, and you will need to demonstrate the core values of inclusion and belonging for all and in return we will support all to excel in their careers within physiotherapy and higher education.  You will be joining the MSc course team to design and deliver learning that enables Physiotherapists to advance their clinical, research and educational skills as leaders.

For the assistant professor post applicants should demonstrate an excellent understanding of their specialist area of practice/education within a UK context, being a leader in their field and be able to demonstrate research and evidence-informed practice within that area. At Assistant Professor level, applicants should be able to demonstrate a high level of expertise holding a higher degree in physiotherapy or related subject and be registered with the HCPC and have experience of working in HEI or educational practice context of the UK.

Experience of teaching students, either within a HEI or as a highly experienced clinical educator is essential. You will work alongside the team to lead educational provision forward, with the skills to embed new and evolving learning technology and design to support engagement in learning to enhance our learner’s leadership skills, person centred approaches, evidence informed practice and digital capabilities for the future.

The University offers academic and professional development and provides a Post Graduate Certificate Teaching Qualification for those who do not hold a recognised teaching qualification.

We welcome potential applicants to visit the campus and meet the teaching teams for an informal discussion. Informal enquiries should be addressed to Dr Kim Stuart (Curriculum Lead: Associate Professor) email kim.stuart@coventry.ac.uk or email talent acquisition on talent.acquisition@coventry.ac.uk
